Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of Chennai super kings, has ruled out the return of Suresh Raina for IPL 2020. He states that the franchise of Chennai super kings respects Raina’s space and decision. Raina has returned to India for personal reasons, but he later hinted that he might come back to the squad.
Since the beginning of the IPL 2020, CSK has been struggling, and they have won only one game so far. Their batting has been low. Apart from Ambati Rayudu and Faf du Plessis, no one looks like they are interested in playing. After their loss against Delhi capitals, twitter sparked up. Each n every fan-requested for the return of Suresh Raina, which looks like is not going to happen.
Vishwanathan stated that they could not look at Suresh Raina. As he made himself unavailable, and everyone respects his space decision, they are just not thinking about it.
He further stated that he assures the fans of CSK that they will bounce back. Cricket is a game and every team has its good and bad days. The players know what they need to do, and they will put smiles back on everyone’s face.
CSK lost by 47 runs in the game against DC; they had to chase 176 runs. After this loss, Dhoni admitted that there was a lack of steam in the batting.
What was Dhoni’s take on this?
The team lacks a bit of steam in the batting, which hurts them, the run rate is just mounting, as they had a slow start, which adds up to the pressure, and the team needs to sort this out. The team needs to come back with a clearer picture while looking at the combination. And the team needs to think about a lot of things. The team needs to batter extra to start, and the players need to set up.
The coach, Stephen Fleming, said that the batting is muddled as the key players Raina and Rayudu are absent. MS Dhoni also requested the batsmen to step up after they had a second successive loss.
What did Stepehen say?
Stephen stated that the entire team is messy right now. They are missing a few of their key players and trying to find a balance to be competitive again. He further stated that they are trying to develop a personality on the pitches. They are trying to find a combination without Raina and Rayudu. Through the six days have been interesting, their performance against Delhi was weaker, and now they have time to rectify the mistakes and work on them.
Like Dhoni in the post-match presentation, Vishwanathan stated that Rayudy would come back for CSK’s next match, which is against SRH on the second of October.
